Context
JAM Brussels is, above all, a concept that is a far cry from traditional hotel chains. Located in a trendy and cosmopolitan neighbourhood, the former Saint-Luc architecture school is transformed into a ‘concept hotel’ under the leadership of Jean-Michel André, an entrepreneur who flouts conventions and loves to surprise.
Process and challenges
With the help of architect Olivia Gustot and the hotel's interior designer Lionel Jadot, the transformation of this former architecture school is taking shape. The Jam is born! It is an unlikely place with an unexpected atmosphere and a dynamic, urban artistic programme. The renovation created 80 rooms, a rooftop bar and an outdoor swimming pool!
Results
Seduced by the concept of this hotel, Nelson took it over and proposed an expanded version of the concept with a focus on low energy use. A hotel collection that always has a surprise up its sleeve.
Opening a place like Jam means creating a new energy in the city. I like to unsettle people, take them out of their comfort zones, stimulate them and help them discover new experiences.
